Join Neighborhood Public Radio (NPR) as they launch their yearlong project, Radio Cartography. At the opening reception NPR inaugurates their new mobile production unit and in-gallery studio with live recording and broadcasting. At the opening, NPR also begins to build local networks for State of Mind Stations, small kiosks placed around the neighborhood that prompt passersby to call and record their state of mind and location; and Talking Homes, site-specific, low-power radio transmissions made by clusters of neighbors discussing their homes and neighborhoods. On Saturday, November 11 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm, join NPR as they present the first of eight monthly broadcasts from SoEx’s storefront gallery.
