The Purple Crayon: Aesthetics and the Community

May 25, 1994

Admission: $5/$3 members and students.

Alumni artist Chris Johnson will discuss the active role artists have played in the community-oriented activities along with David Trend and John Weber. “The Purple Crayon” will address how artists have gone beyond simply addressing socio-political issues in their studio work and are filling in the gaps left in art education in new and illuminating ways. These three prominent members in the field of art education will discuss these changes and the continued possibilities for growth in the field through aesthetic, curatorial and anthropological viewpoints.
