September 9- October 4, 1987

Opening Reception: 7-9pm, September 11, 1987

David Dashiell, Darryl Sapien

Dashiell: “Dashiell’s Installation, “’A Lover’s Discourse’ (after the book by Roland Barthes), is a circle of 90 cartoonish, captioned paintings on a wide variety of materials…together they signify the intense and illogical constructs of obsessive love in a structure that embodies the arbitrary nature of language.”

Sapien: “Sapien’s paintings center around the representations and interpretation of signs…These works alter existing signs in a manner that calls into question their commonly held interpretations.”
