Bench Project, Round 8 Grantee
AC Transit bus stops
Bench Projects is an artist-led public art platform that will rent advertising space at Oakland AC Transit bus stops to create six ‘bench galleries’ in North Oakland to engage more deeply in their surroundings. Erin Colleen Johnson and Kari Marboe, Bench Projects will be open November 1, 2015 – January 31, 2016

Interface Gallery, Round 7 Grantee
486 49th Street, Oakland (@Temescal District) ‘Some other sense of time and space’, with works by Linda Geary and May Wilson, is open through November 29, 2015. Opening reception on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM.

Little Paper Planes, Round 7 Grantee
855 Valencia Street SF, CA 
Readings by Courtney Cassidy, Lydo Le, and Sara McGrath at Little Paper Planes: November 5, 2015. Also on view are the works of LPP featured painter Lana Williams of Bonanza, currently in residence at the LPP+ Residency.

Shapeshifters Cinema, Round 7 Grantee
511 48th St. (@Telegraph) Oakland
Upcoming shows include the work of Greta Snider, a San Francisco-based filmmaker who is particularly interested in experimental nonfiction and exploring the boundaries between documentary and document. She will present a set of all-new films and slide projects that explore the relationship between words, images, and bodies.

Other Cinema, Round 6 Grantee
ATA Gallery, 992 Valencia (@ 21st)
Other Cinema is a weekly microcinema exhibiting experimental and underground film, video, and performance. Upcoming shows include ‘Non-Fiction Nation’: November 7, 2015; ‘Xperimental Xchange’: November 14, 2015; and ‘Avant to Live’: November 21, 2015. 

Oakland Stock, Round 6 Grantee
Humanist Hall, 390 27th St, Oakland, CA 94612
Oakland Stock is part of the Sunday Soup network, supporting artists’ projects one bowl of soup at a time. Diners pay a small dinner fee, feast on a simple yet gourmet meal, and listen to artists propose new projects that need funding. Next event will be Sunday, November 15, 2015.

Needles and Pens, Round 4 Grantee
3253 16th Street, SF CA, 94103 ‘OK’, a solo exhibition by Boston based artist Damien Hoar de Galvan. Exhibit opens November 6, 2015 and runs through December 31, 2015.
