Break Bar

Break Bar

Break Bar is an interdisciplinary collaboration between San Francisco chocolatier, Dandelion Chocolate, Cool Hunting and the New York-based Snarkitecture, in which a limited edition of chocolate bars are being produced. Proceeds from the sale of this hand crafted, edible sculpture benefit Southern Exposure.

Break Bar consists of two mirrored topographical chocolate landscapes that nest perfectly together. When unwrapped, the bar appears to contain a continuous fracture around the perimeter of the bar. “This break at the edge and the excavated surface texture of the two halves play on the idea of a ‘broken’ object that is in fact completely functional, and in this case, also happens to be delicious,” says Snarkitecture.

Break Bar is six ounces, or the equivalent of three standard Dandelion Chocolate bars, and is made from 70% chocolate from Maya Mountain, Belize beans. Packaged in a custom box, five of the five hundred bars contain a “White Ticket” which rewards the owner with a non-edible gypsum replica of Break Bar.

The second batch of Break Bars will be released in early 2015 and pre-orders are currently being taken at dandelionchocolate.com/store/products/break-bar.
