Join us on October 7 for a closing celebration and publication launch for Dewdrops in the Garden. The publication is designed by Helen Shewolfe Tseng. Aay Preston-Myint will read from the publication, Shelley Wong will read from her new book As She Appears (YesYes Books, May 2022), and the readings will be followed by a live performance by Crystal Quartez.

Shelley Wong is the author of As She Appears (YesYes Books), winner of the 2019 Pamet River Prize and longlisted for the 2022 National Book Award. She has received a Pushcart Prize and fellowships from MacDowell and Kundiman. She is an affiliate artist at Headlands Center for the Arts and lives in San Francisco.

Crystal Quartez is a sound artist and creative technologist. They create "Restorative Noise" by organizing the drones and rhythms of mechanical life, natural voices, and digital timbres into a texture rich electronic dance music. These complex sonic realms are windows into shared networks of reality, often separated by borders, time, and perception. Recently, their work has involved collecting live biodata from plants and static data from climate change, to translate these numbers and electrical impulses into sound.
