Brevity: A Group of Readers
Michael Swaine is joined by four Bay Area writers – Nancy Au, Nona Caspers, Kyle Metzner & Jared Roehrig – to read and perform brief texts in an evening that explores how much we can say without saying much. Based on a class of the same name taught by Cooley Windsor, Brevity gathers a small congenial community of writers to expand on the themes of Swaine's year-long series.
This marks the eleventh is a series of twelve enacted readings. The final event, scheduled for Wednesday, March 5, serves as a publication launch for the year's combined texts, and a celebration of a year of holding scissors, rope, extension cords, each others' hands and our own breaths, closing our eyes, lying on the sidewalk and buttoning ourselves together.
