The theme and title of this year’s Artists In Education summer exhibition, Half Light, was chosen by Southern Exposure’s Youth Advisory Board. Exciting new work by youth artists and teaching artists from Mission Voices Summer, Southern Exposure’s 1:1 Mentorship Program, and Youth Advisory Board are on exhibit together. Half Light is about beginnings and endings, the duality of moving forward but also looking back at upbringings with a nostalgic lens. The artists created introspective projects that reveal many layers of identity. Within these layers are reflections of our changing communities, family histories, relationships, nature, personal enlightenment and meditative states.
