This summer, Southern Exposure’s highly successful Artists in Education program is again working with twelve middle school students from the SF Conservation Corps’ Youth in Action Program. Members from DIWA, a collective of Fillipino-American artists, lead innovative workshops in this program entitled “Drawing Connections,” an exploration of personal and cultural identities, the environment and the community. The Open House at Southern Exposure will include student writings, performances and an installation based upon the themes of shelter and community.
