Accumulative Rubbings

Young artists worked with exhibiting artist Chris Sollars and artist assistant Chelsea Heikes to explore contemporary every-day life. Students investigated personal, neighborhood, and social concerns to create drawings using rubbing techniques and documented actions using video and photography. These processes enabled participants to experience the cause and effects of actions and change by focusing on scale, mass, and accumulation. The resulting installation included a large scale rubbing of an object and a video of a group action.
