2016-2017 One-On-One Mentorship Program

Artists in Education Program

2016-2017 One-On-One Mentorship Program

Pairing passionate advanced youth artists with professional artist mentors

Program dates: Weekly, October 2016 – May 2017

Southern Exposure's One-on-One Mentorship Program offers youth artists, ages 16–21, the opportunity to develop and produce a project with a professional artist mentor who works in an area or medium of their interest. The program offers youth artists, of all skill levels, a professional space and forum to work on their portfolio, to gain the skills to get into art school, or take their artistic practice to the next level.

Youth selected for this program meet with an artist mentor every week during the school year to share each other’s skills, creative pursuits and develop a collaborative project that will be on view to the public at Southern Exposure's gallery in the Spring of 2017. Youth artists also work with other artists in the program for informal critiques, workshops and field trips.
