Viral Counter-Publics

This series of six experimental-poetry performance videos will engage and highlight the visual practices of six Bay Area queer and trans poets of color. Free public screenings of the videos will be held in various indoor and outdoor venues, and a rotating installation will be presented in collective spaces serving LGBTQ+ communities and communities of color. Viral Counter-Publics is organized by Timeless, Infinite Light in collaboration with Cantíl, a series featuring exclusively writers of color and dedicated to the poetics of resistance. Timeless, Infinite Light is an Oakland-based small press that publishes contemporary writing with a tendency toward the experimental, radical, and mystical. The Alternative Exposure grant supports video production and exhibition costs, including artist stipends.
