The Burl Concentrate is an experimental mobile residency program, reading room, and philosophy in practice committed to dismantling the a-priori othering at the heart of the contemporary human relationship to the earth and the idea of “nature”. The Alternative Exposure grant allows The Concentrate to be a nexus for foregrounding the implications of climate crisis facing our community while developing strategies of care and adaptation. Through a series of writings, public readings and discussions we ask: What are we willing to give up? What do we care about more than ourselves? How can we begin to remember our interdependency?
