About 2011 Grant Process

In Round 5 of the Alternative Exposure Grant Program, Southern Exposure awarded $66,000 to 19 projects at levels ranging from $3,000 to $3,500.

Round 5 Grantees: Art for a Democratic Society, Bay Area Art & Science Interdisciplinary Collaborative Sessions (BAASICS), The Body is Missing, Indigenous Arts Coalition, Liminal Space, LOOP Arts, MacArthur B Arthur, Martina }{ Johnston Gallery, Mattress Talks, MicroClimate Collective, Owl & Tiger Books, Parse Gallery, Pied-à-terre, Prelinger Library, Private Eye: Investigating Disability in Contemporary Art, The Roving Archives, San Francisco Electronic Music Festival, Stairwell’s, and Upgrade! San Francisco

An outside panel selected the 2011 grantees. Jurors included Julie Lazar, independent curator and Director, International Contemporary Arts Network; Jasmine Moorhead, Owner and Director, Krowswork; and Rosten Woo, designer, writer, educator, and co-founder of the Center for Urban Pedagogy.
