Southern Exposure presents an evening of performance and discussion to celebrate LAND AND SEA's recently released issues 15-19. Issues 15 and 16 each featured flipbook representations of the work of Greg Stimac and Reuben Lorch-Miller. In response, the original film, video, and performance recordings by both artists will be screened while writer Pavle Levi discusses his new book, Cinema by Other Means. Issue 17, WORDS, featured series of repeated text pieces by Chris Duncan in which the repetition and randomness create odd patterning. In response, artist, composer and musician Jacob Wick will perform a trumpet piece using WORDS as a score. LAND AND SEA will also debut Issue 19, a 7" record by Collin McKelvey called Canti For Paul Kos, whose piece, "The Sound of Ice Melting," was inspiration for an earlier record and performance. In response, writer and curator Aaron Harbour, who wrote an essay/liner notes for Collins’ record, will produce several small drink recipes served in ice cube cups under the banner 'the taste of ice melting'. All current editions and limited artist editions of LAND AND SEA will be available for purchase.
