Deadline to apply for YAB Teaching Artist Positions

Southern Exposure is seeking 2 TEACHING ARTISTS: 1 PART-TIME LEAD TEACHING ARTIST and 1 PART-TIME ASSISTANT TEACHING ARTIST for its Youth Advisory Board (YAB) program. YAB gives young people the opportunity to exercise leadership skills and participate in their community by exploring relevant social and personal issues through visual arts. YAB is organized by Southern Exposure’s Artists in Education Program in collaboration with local community-based youth organizations. The program bridges neighborhoods and cultures by pairing local artists with teens.

Two art instructors, along with Southern Exposure’s Artists in Education Program Director, will collaborate and teach approximately 15 - 20 teenagers this coming spring to produce a final project that uses video and filmmaking skills. Youth will explore creative ideas through research, field trips, discussion and hands-on art making.

The Spring 2013 YAB Program will be a collaborative experimental video project. Artists working in the field of video or film production are strongly encouraged to apply. YAB will be collaborating with the SoEx Projects and Exhibitions Program to produce videos that will be screened in May of 2013.

Deadline to Apply: November 29, 2012
NO late or email applications accepted.
