Annetta Kapon

Sculptures

February 15 - March 14, 1992

Opening Reception: 6-8pm, February 21, 1992.

Los Angeles-based Annetta Kapon will be featured in her first Bay Area exhibition. In her conceptual Sculptures, Kapon constructs surprisingly whimsical compositions that address issues of presence and absence with everyday, often gender-specific objects such as eggs, scales, and hair brushes. Exterior, surface readings of feminine objects are negated in her work when an egg contains a toggle switch or a drain, a hairbrush is left full of dyed platinum blond hair, or a pill bowl is made from the pills themselves.
