Over What’s Left Over: a sound installation

April 21 – 27, 1994

Performance: 6:00 – 9:00 pm,

Admission: $5/$3 members and students

In the Mezzanine Gallery, Southern Exposure presents a sound installation by Jal Jalbuena. In a bare room with only speakers and an audio system, the former San Francisco Art Institute film instructor looks at the intersection of the visual and audible. Over What’s Left Over explores the physical aspects of being on top. Jalbuena’s voice draws the listener into the sound envelope as he confronts you, identifies with you and confides in you, creating the intimacy and vulnerability while both caressing your nerves and pushing your buttons.
