Glory and Disintegration

Bette Burgoyne

Glory and Disintegration

February 15 - March 14, 1992

Opening Reception: 6-8pm, February 21, 1992.

Betty Burgoyne carves such delectable body parts as teeth and the digestive tract from perishable and edible materials such as potatoes and cheese… Her pieces are in a constant state of change, disintegration and transformation. In order to accentuate the visceral atmosphere of Glory and Disintegration, Burgoyne fills a collection of speakers with ticking clocks, an audio augmentation to a large adjacent table covered with potato-carved cogwheels.
