Rigo 92’s work will be featured in the spacious downstairs gallery. A Portuguese artist and former resident of the Bay Area, Rigo ’92 will be returning from Portugal for the exhibition, his first local one person effort in five years. His work was featured in the January 1991 Southern Exposure group exhibition An Unwanted Animal At The Garden Party for Democracy. Rigo’s strident painting installation work incorporates politically powerful figurative elements with formally inventive presentation strategies in often daunting large scale. Adprop continues his investigations of mass media as the preferred delivery system of ideology in Western culture.
