Program dates: Weekly, October 2017 – May 2018 with a show opening in May 2018

Southern Exposure's Artist in Education Program (AIE) is offering youth artists, ages 16–21, the opportunity to develop and produce a project with a professional artist mentor who works in an area or medium of their interest. The program offers youth artists, of all skill levels, a professional space and forum to work on their portfolio, to gain the skills to get into art school, or take their artistic practice to the next level.

Youth selected for this program will meet with an artist mentor every week for two hours during the school year to share each other’s skills, creative pursuits and develop a collaborative project that will be on view to the public at Southern Exposure's gallery in May 2018. Youth artists will also work with other artists in the program for informal critiques, workshops and field trips. This free program is highly selective, and we encourage students who are passionate about the arts to apply!
