Current Internships at Southern Exposure

Interested in planning programs and events for artists?

Join Southern Exposure as an intern and be immersed in the glamorous (or, at least, meaningful and creative) world of nonprofit arts administration! To apply, submit a cover letter and resume to [email protected] by September 15, 2018. A SoEx staff member will respond to you as applications are received.

Monster Drawing Rally Intern

The Monster Drawing Rally intern works with SoEx staff to coordinate all aspects of the annual Monster Drawing Rally (MDR), an incredible live drawing and fundraiser event where over 120 artists work side by side to create original drawings that immediately go up for sale. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience and interest in event planning to gain valuable professional experience while working with a dedicated team to realize a fun, fast-paced community event.

The MDR intern serves as the primary liaison with participating artists. Other responsibilities include sending out event postings and calendar listings, organizing necessary supplies, helping to coordinate volunteers, uploading photos and text to the SoEx website, and data entry. The MDR intern must be available at least one day a week from the beginning of September through the end of October, and must absolutely be available to serve a key position at the event on October 5, 2018.

Skills needed: Excellent organizational skills, good people skills, the ability to work under pressure, an appreciation for contemporary art, proficiency in Google Drive, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Experience with Photoshop and database software a plus.
