Auction Internship

The Auction Intern works closely with the Development Director and Fundraising Committee on all aspects of Southern Exposure's Annual Fundraiser and Art Auction. The intern will learn how to organize a major fundraising event from beginning to end, including a range of pre- and post-event communications and the context of a major fundraising event within a small non-profit organization. Duties include seeking business sponsorships and in-kind donations, coordinating auction artists and artworks, creating and maintaining complex spreadsheets, auction catalog production, event production, gallery installation, publicity and marketing, and donor acknowledgement.

Skills needed: Strong communication skills, an outgoing personality, attention to detail, ability to work independently, interest in non-profit fundraising and event planning; familiarity with Mac computers, social media and a solid working knowledge of general office applications such as Google Drive, FileMaker Pro, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Duration: November 2015 – May 2016, approximately 6-8 hours/week
