The South X Barbecue: a gala to benefit Southern Exposure’s 20th Anniversary Celebration

Featuring live music by Body, Beasts of Paradise, the Enormous Ensemble, Soca Tremor, performances by Alex Baker, Paul Benney, Jenee Gill, Philip Horvitz, Christian Huygen, Tana Johnson, Maria Medua and members of DIWA, Doyle Ott, Miquel Penn, Rex Ray and Wayne Smith.

A gala benefit for Southern Exposure will be held in the gallery’s outdoor corridor. This non-stop entertainment festival promises to be one of the event highlights of the year. A juried multi-ethnic barbeque cook-off by prominent San Francisco restaurants is but one of the evening’s many treats…live music and dancing including the steel drum sounds of Soca Tremor will be featured in the South X corral. The barbeque marks the unveiling of the Southern Exposure Mural Project running along 17th and Alabama streets created by luminary public artists Brett Cook-Dizney,  Rigo 94 and Twist….”The Next Twenty Years,” continuous performances by leading and emerging artists round out the evening’s entertainment…The South X Barbeque previews the 20th Anniversary Alumni Exhibit.
