Resistance is Fruitful: A Day of Collective Production

Resistance is Fruitful is a drop-in day of visual resistance production featuring Reap What You Sew protest banner-making with Stephanie Syjuco and Ink and Resistance, a public printmaking project with Anthony Ryan and Jeanne Lorenz. Other artist participants will be announced as added!

INK AND RESISTANCE:
Posters with messages of resistance will printed on site and distributed to the public. You may also bring paper and textiles (patches or garments) for us to print on.

REAP WHAT YOU SEW:
Come with a fabric banner project already in progress, a piece of scrap fabric to begin your banner, or help us produce some to share with others. Collaborative projects welcome! We’ll have inspirational examples, basic supplies, iron-on templates, fabric, scissors, and other materials to make your own forms of visual resistance to take away and finish. For a small donation we’ll even provide a small fabric panel for you to start with. Get ready for upcoming Inauguration actions in a collective atmosphere! All skill levels welcome, sewing not required but helpful to know!

WHAT TO BRING:
Donations of useable fabric scraps or yardage in all colors are welcome, as well as fabric panels such as clean bedsheets, pillowcases, etc. If you have a sewing kit (needle, thread, and scissors) bring them for your personal use so we can share our resources with those that don’t have them. While we’ll have several sewing machines on-site, we welcome you to bring your own machine.
