Southern Exposure's Youth Advisory Board (YAB) presents Nuestro Futuro: Our Future, a final class celebration and presentation of new work open to family and friends. On Wednesday, May 27, YAB ends the semester with a party and display of work documenting the process that led to the creation of their final project. Highlighted work includes student photography, product design assignments, deconstructed magazine images and advertisements and imagined cityscape models. Refreshments will be served!

The young artists from this semester of YAB are excited to be a part of Bellwether, Southern Exposure's inaugural show in its new home! For Bellwether, YAB reflects on hopeful ideas and uncertainties in the future, specifically in the realm of technology and advertising. While simultaneously looking to the future and the past, their project, Nuestro Futuro: Our Future consists of a large-scale, digital mural installation that explores young identities and futuristic projections within a cultural context. YAB predicts that in the future the commodification of space will reach an extreme state where popular travel destinations are cyber or virtual realities. Do these future destinations reflect parallel dimensions, quantum jumping, astral projections, imagined play lands, cyber worlds or all of the above?
