The Future Isn't What it Used to Be

Bay Area artist Anthony Discenza screens Charlton Heston: The Future Has Already Been Written, a fusion of the speculative science-fiction films Planet of the Apes, Omega Man, and Soylent Green, or what Discenza informally refers to as the "Charlton Heston 70's Dystopia Triptych." The Future Has Already Been Written blends apocalyptic visions of humanity's near- and far- future into a hypnagogic reverie of competing dystopias, anchored by the flashing white teeth of the former head of the NRA.
