JD Beltran is a conceptual artist, designer, filmmaker, writer, curator, and educator. Scott Minneman is an innovative technologist who invents, designs, engineers, fabricates, and exhibits novel physical interactive devices for public spaces. Their collaborative, award-winning work, utilizing cutting-edge technology, blends the narrative and abstract in investigating how materials tell stories.

They have exhibited internationally, including at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the De Young Museum, The Rotterdam International Film Festival, the MIT Media Lab, the Kitchen NYC, Cité des Ondes Vidéo et Art Électronique in Montreal, ProArte in St. Petersburg, Russia, the Fei Contemporary Art Center in Shanghai, China, the Getty Institute, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and in multiple Zero1 New Media Biennials.

Their public interactive art commissions include pieces in St. Petersburg (RU), Cleveland, Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Rotterdam (NL), San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Cleveland, OH among others. They have been awarded fellowships and residencies from Global Art Lab, Stochastic Labs, the Workshop Residency, Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture, and Artadia.

Their awards include a Public Art Network Award for creating one of the top public artworks in the country (2009) and the New Technological Art Award (2014) as one of the top art and technology artworks worldwide. In 2015 their work was featured at the 44th International Film Festival Rotterdam. Scott is a professor at the California College of the Arts, and Beltran is a professor at both the California College of the Arts and the San Francisco Art Institute. They live and work in San Francisco.
