Southern Exposure's One-On-One Mentorship Program finishes its first year. Along with Southern Exposure's Artists in Education Program Manager, three mentors and three mentees collaborated from September 2010 to May 2011, working side by side on relevant projects, sharing ideas and engaging in research and discussion. Projects included: a photography book of a student’s own images, sculptural objects exploring a student’s personal identity, and a music video featuring an original song made by a friend.

The One-On-One Mentorship Program aims to match students with a professional in their artistic field of interest developing a project together over the course of twelve weeks. The program meets for two hours once a week. Mentors nurture the youth’s creative ideas by offering support and guidance, helping to set and meet goals, and sharing skills.
