Jeannene Przyblyski is an artist, historian and urban strategist. She earned her Ph.D. in Art History from the University of California, Berkeley, and is associate professor in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at San Francisco Art Institute. In 2001, she founded the San Francisco Bureau of Urban Secrets, a visual arts and urbanism think tank that incubates and promotes art and other public interventions in city life. Bureau projects have included the community-based wandering game, Ambulatory Gambit (with Lee Walton), an installation on the Central Waterfront entitled Third Street Inside/Out, the perfume intervention, Urban Essence: the Scent of San Francisco (with Yosh Han, 826 Valencia), and a historic trail re-purposing action, Travels with Carlos and Anza: A Brief Explorer’s Guide to a Few Missing Monuments.
