Board President, Southern Exposure
For half a decade, Tracy Wheeler has served on the board of Southern Exposure, and in 2004 became the Board President. Combining her background in international marketing for some of the world’s most renowned apparel brands and a deep love for contemporary art, Wheeler has helped lead the SoEx board into becoming powerful advocates for the visual arts in the Bay Area and beyond.
Wheeler’s professional background in international marketing for Polo/Ralph Lauren in New York and London brought her to San Francisco in 1991 to work for Esprit, Foote Cone and Belding, and Gap where she led the marketing direction for the brand in Japan, Germany, the UK, France and Canada. While at Gap, Wheeler developed a love for video production, ultimately deciding to leave the company to pursue a career in filmmaking.
In addition to serving as SoEx’s Board President, Wheeler currently consults with small businesses and artists on their professional development and marketing strategies, and is busy adapting Wallace Stegner’s novel, ‘The Spectator Bird’, to film.
