Kamau Patton is a visual artist and art educator. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Sociology and a concentration in the Sociology of Work and Organizations. He attended the London School of Economics and Political Science where he passed the General Course in Sociology and Social Policy. He received his master’s in fine art from Stanford University, Spring 2007. Kamau Patton has an extensive background in education and program development. He has worked on numerous projects to develop programs aimed at youth and young adults for organizations such as The San Francisco Art Institute, The School House, the Museum of Children’s Art and the Richmond Art Center. Kamau has worked on public art projects commissioned by The San Francisco Arts Commission, the City of Walnut Creek, the City of San Jose, and Creative Time. Kamau has exhibited work in several Bay Area galleries and was included in Bay Area Now 3 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. He has recently shown work in New York City at the Tilton Gallery and in Los Angeles at Machine Project. Kamau Patton is City Studio faculty at the San Francisco Art Institute. He is currently the Artist-in- Residence at the Cantor Museum at Stanford University.
