Dana Hemenway is an artist based in San Francisco, CA. She is interested in the aesthetics of context and display; the resulting work ranges from sculpture to video to site-specific installation. Dana received her MFA in 2010 from Mills College. She has had residencies at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art (Omaha, NE) and Root Division (San Francisco, CA). Dana has exhibited her artwork locally, nationally, and internationally including at Proyectos Monclova in Mexico City; Wave Pool in Cincinnati, Ohio; The Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History in Santa Cruz, CA; Gensler, The Popular Workshop, San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery, SOMArts Cultural Center, Park Life, Southern Exposure, Intersection for the Arts, & Mission 17 in San Francisco; Pacific Film Archive in Berkeley; EXO Project Space in Oak Lawn, IL; Statler-Waldorf Gallery in Los Angeles; and Bragg's Pie Factory in Phoenix, AZ. Her work has been reviewed in San Francisco Magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle, ÆQAI, SFGate.com, ARTSlant, and Art Cards. Dana is currently a co-director at Royal Nonesuch Gallery, an artist-run project space in Oakland, CA. She is represented by Eleanor Harwood Gallery in San Francisco, CA.
