Untitled Collage #8, Time and Money Series

Untitled Collage #8, Time and Money Series, 2016
"I am confronting the age-old dilemma of balancing the time for human needs and desires with the artificial construct of making money. My Time and Money collage series evokes the collision of time passing with the bling that money can obtain. My images of watches, jewelry, and fashion are harvested from the New York Times. I use an inexpensive Xerox machine in order to create diverse textures that abstract the image. Through hand manipulation and obsolete media, the work embodies the act of the time it took to create."
