STOP YELLING!, 2015
Imin Yeh ( b. 1983) is an interdisciplinary and project-based artist, working in sculpture, installation, participatory events, and print. Her projects use repetitive handcraft and mimicry as a strategy for exploring the issues around the unseen labor and production that lies behind our many unconsidered everyday objects. Yeh is the recipient of a Eureka Fellowship, an Individual Artist Grant from the San Francisco Arts Commission, and an Irvine Fellowship at the Lucas Artist Residency Program at Montalvo Art Center. Recent exhibitions include the San Jose Museum of Art, Asian Art Museum (San Francisco), the Contemporary Jewish Museum (San Francisco), Headlands Center for the Arts, Kala Art Institute Gallery, and the CUNY Graduate Center gallery. She has been an Artist in Residency at Montalvo Art Center (Saratoga, CA), Blue Mountain Center (New York), Sandarbh Artist Workshop (Partapur, India), and at RecologySF (San Francisco). She is currently an adjunct lecturer in at San Jose State University and Stanford University, and will be an assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon University starting this autumn.
