Anne McGuire paints, makes videos, performs as a singer on stage, and writes short stories and poems in San Francisco. Her video art has shown locally at ATA, SFMOMA, Asian Art Museum, Pacific Film Archive, YBCA, ShapeShifters, and internationally at MoMA, the Whitney and Guggenheim Museums in New York, the Museum of Modern Art, Stockholm, the Getty Museum, Los Angeles, White Chapel Gallery, London, UK, and festivals and galleries around the world including Altman Siegel Gallery in San Francisco, New York Video Festival, New York Underground Film Festival, and most recently in Canada at Open City Cinema in Toronto and VideoFag in Winnipeg.

McGuire’s videos are distributed by Video Data Bank in Chicago, and LUX in London, UK; her works on paper can be viewed at 2nd floor projects in San Francisco. She is a member of the Right Window Gallery at 992 Valencia Street in San Francisco. She was born in the Valley of the Jolly Green Giant and George Kuchar called her a decent person.
