Nancy Mintz received a BFA from California College of Arts and Crafts in 1990 and an MFA from Mills College in Ceramics and Sculptures in 1993. In her sculptures and installations, Mintz explores the intersection of personal identity and the natural world. Using materials such as felt, steel and wood, she creates landscapes complete with mountains and moon that are also strangely human. Mintz's sculptures address the ways in which natural forces shape our lives and the environment around us.
