Art Publishing Now is a two-day event dedicated to the investigation and showcasing of art publishing practices in the Bay Area. It includes a day of presentations and critical discussions, an after-party, an art publishers fair, library and archive.

The 2010 Art Publishing Now Summit invites the public to join leading creators of print, online, and experimental publications to reflect on the most urgent issues and exciting possibilities in art publishing today. With topics ranging from “Publish AND Perish” to “West Coast Critical?”, the event will include a series of presentations, conversations, and panels intended to yield insight and encourage innovation in Bay Area art publishing.
ART PUBLISHING NOW AFTER PARTY
Saturday, October 9, 2010, 6-10pm
FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Immediately following the Summit on October 9, 2010, there will be a celebration from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. This event is free and open to the public. Art Publishing Now Summit and Fair participants, and the general public will gather to connect and have a chance to discuss issues covered earlier in the day at the summit. Purchase food from some of SF's favorite street food vendors including El Tonayense Taco Truck.
Drinks and libations by donation from Trumer Brauerei, BridgePort Brewery, and Spoetzl Brewery.
ART PUBLISHERS FAIR

The Art Publishers Fair showcases the breadth and depth of art publishing projects in the Bay Area. The fair hosts more than 50 Bay Area independent publishing and related projects presenting a diverse range of the best in contemporary art publications ranging from periodicals, websites, editions and more. The event is free and open to the public. Participating vendors to date include 2nd Floor Projects, Art Practical, The Thing Quarterly, Artopic.org, Little Paper Planes, Gallery 16, The Present Group, Owl Cave, TBW Books, Steven Leiber, Stretcher.org, Rite Editions and many more. THROUGHOUT:
LIBRARY AND ARCHIVE
The Art Publishing Now Library is both a physical and online index of art publishing in the San Francisco Bay Area. The APN Library is a self-defined collection; it is open to any project that considers itself an art publisher or a contributor (projects originating from artists, writers, cultural producers) to art publishing in the region. The APN Library will be installed at Southern Exposure from October to December 2010, and will continue to collect and preserve a broad range of art publishing projects.
